The year 2026 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Czech Alaska Society.

The Velvet Revolution toppled the communist regime, which had ruled the country for more than forty years, and reinstated a democratic government. The year 2019 marked 30 years since this most defining moment in recent history for the Czech people.

We are a non-profit organization for Czechs and Slovaks in Alaska.  We believe that our heritage  is an essential part of our well being and our thriving community.  We believe that our devotion to our history will drive the spirit and raise the collective consciousness of the citizens of Alaska.  We collaborate with other  organizations in an effort to facilitate mutual support, recognition, and the exchanging of ideas.  We work to encourage a culture of love and appreciation of our forefathers, homeland and heritage. We invite everyone to expand  our organization in an effort to enrich the lives of all the citizens of Alaska. The Czech-Alaska Society strives to unleash the Czech and Slovak heritage in  everyone.

From Jitka (President)

Hello all,

It was a great summer day on August 1st for the 2025 Picnic and Potluck.

The usual and traditional foods, beer; our devoted regulars and firstcomers.  From babies to kids over 90 in age all gathered to enjoy the art of Czech Heritage.

Interesting conversations while roasting sausages on sticks; hugs with words of advice and support.

Nurturing significant friendships, sharing "How to Recipes".

Valuable bonus of speaking Czech inspiring all to explore more.

Students experiencing the ways of the "Motherland".

Teachers learning and observing.

Natural enrichment of brains and souls, and of course the home cooking...

We noticed quite a few did not get to come.  Know that we missed you and there is an open invite.

A lovely report was done during our picnic by Pavel Novák.  Here is the link...take a listen.
